Colorado Schools Breathe Easy
Clean indoor air contributes to a favorable learning environment for students and increased productivity for teachers and staff.
Colorado Schools Breathe Easy! combines Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools, a proactive and preventative indoor air quality program, and Open Airways for Schools, an asthma education program specifically designed for use in elementary schools.
Schools that have implemented Colorado Schools Breathe Easy! have seen an increase in energy efficiency of their school's heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, as well as a reduction in indoor air quality problems and environmental asthma triggers for children and school staff. The program has helped many schools make improvements at minimal cost using common-sense solutions.
The program is intended to identify low- or no-cost upgrades or general maintenance suggestions for schools, so as not to further burden their budget constraints. This approach has proven to be a success in Colorado schools that have implemented Tools for Schools, and has resulted in improved air quality for teachers and staff.
